HARDI Urges Members to Participate in 2014 Big Man On Planet Competition
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Heating, Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International has announced that the association will once again partner with Thermostat Recycling Corporation for the 2014 Big Man On Planet campaign.
This year, BMOP runs through Oct. 31 and all HARDI members must sign up by May 31 at http://www.thermostat-recycle.org/BMOP to be eligible to participate and receive free promotional materials. BMOP recommends that HARDI members promote TRC’s mercury thermostat collection program at their branches nationwide to recover the most thermostats. Three winners will be chosen by TRC based upon size of company, and they will be recognized at HARDI’s annual conference Dec. 7-10 in San Antonio, Texas. They will receive a BMOP cup trophy and $500 employee incentive. In 2013, Johnstone Supply was named the winner after recycling an amazing 107 pounds of mercury during the competition.
“This competition encourages active participation in TRC’s program, both for those distributors already collecting and those who may be interested in participating for the first time,” said Tibbetts. “The BMOP award is a great opportunity for HARDI members to be recognized for their efforts in recycling mercury thermostats and protecting the environment.”
