BrassCraft Manufacturing Has Got It in the Bag

NOVI, Mich. — In a continuing effort to promote the plumbing profession while encouraging the development of the next generation of professional plumbers, BrassCraft Manufacturing is helping to start off young careers right with a practical gift: a professional plumber’s tool bag. Recent plumbing graduates moving from apprentice to journeyman status can register to request the complimentary BrassCraft signature tool bag.

“It’s our way of saying ‘welcome to the industry’ with something that can be used every day on the job,” said Tom Carey, vice president, BrassCraft Manufacturing. “We know that our newest pros have worked hard to get to this point in their careers and we’re honored to have a chance to join in their professional journey.”

As an American manufacturer of innovative plumbing products, BrassCraft Manufacturing has helped to set the standard for modern day plumbing for more than 65 years. Generations of professionals have trusted BrassCraft products and, according to Carey, the company is committed to carrying on this legacy. “We look forward to being the brand that continues to help build businesses and reputations,” he said. “We are committed to supporting young people early in their careers.”

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, due to an aging generation of skilled professionals, more than a third of all plumbers (167K) will be exiting the workforce by 2016. Multiple factors are expected to lead to this situation, including the low interest of high school students in having a career in a skilled trade, despite great future potential. The shortage of skilled professionals will arise at a crucial time where demand is expected to grow by 10 percent, primarily driven by construction growth.

“Young adults have a lot to consider when choosing a career path, such as employable careers that can withstand varying economic trends. Plumbing is a fulfilling career that allows one to combine knowledge and innovation with the ability to create and build with your hands,” said Carey. “Plumbing professionals will always be in demand and it’s an important, indispensable profession.”

The BrassCraft plumber’s tool bag is available to anyone graduating from apprentice to journeyman. For more information, contact BrassCraft Manufacturing at communications@brasscrafthq.com .
