Trane Expands Lineup of Performance Climate Changer Outdoor Air Handler Units
Trane has expanded its lineup of Performance Climate Changer outdoor air handler units to create the most comprehensive air handler portfolio in the industry. The outdoor air handler units deliver increased energy efficiency, reduced operating costs and improved indoor air quality and occupant comfort to serve a wide variety of applications.
Outdoor air handler units are built to provide performance that stands up to the elements. Foam-injected double-wall panels, strategically designed hoods, superior casing construction, sloped roofs and a welded base help keep damaging water out of the unit and building even in the harshest conditions. The unit BACNet-listed controls and electrical components are factory-mounted inside the air handler — keeping them well protected from the elements and the unit operating at peak performance.
Performance Climate Changer outdoor air handlers offer many advanced options to address specific indoor air quality needs. Trane Cool Dry Quiet desiccant dehumidification wheels manage building humidity better than traditional coil-only cooling systems and use up to 60 percent less energy.
To control a broad range of airborne contaminants, including dust, particulates, odors, volatile organic compounds, viruses and bacteria, Performance Climate Changer air handlers use the Trane Catalytic Air Cleaning System to combine high-efficiency MERV 13 filtration with UV-C lights and photo-catalytic oxidation.
Reduction in sound level is also critical to occupant comfort. The unit SDDP fan arrays significantly reduce noise by eliminating belts and offering multiple fan blade and wheel options. The fans’ beltless design also delivers maintenance advantages, since there is no need to adjust or replace belts. Discharge plenums and tuning modules, fan silencers and acoustical prediction software reduce sound levels even further for noise-sensitive applications.
Additional options, like AHRI 1060-certified energy wheels, a Dual Exhaust Energy Recovery system and air-to-plate heat exchangers, increase savings by providing advanced energy recovery capabilities. Available Traq dampers also reduce costs by enabling a more efficient demand control ventilation strategy.
The multiple electrical power points are consolidated at the factory to a single connection, making installations faster and less complicated.
