Bosch Recognizes 2015 Green Living Award Winners
LONDONDERRY, N.H. – In an effort to promote and reward energy efficient and sustainable practices in the HVAC industry, Bosch Thermotechnology Corp. judges announced the winners of its third annual Green Living Awards contest.
Companies from across North America entered to win in 2015, submitting their most innovative commercial and residential projects using Bosch products. Judges ultimately chose the top three installations in each category, recognizing the best installations of its HVAC products this year.
The first place award winners are:
Commercial Applications
Climate-Tech, North Ridgeville, Ohio
Presented to Field Operations Manager Joshua Dubecky
Climate-Tech, Inc. is a family owned and operated business operating in Ohio since 1972. The team installed four cascading Buderus GB162 Gas Condensing Boilers in a nearby commercial business plaza, achieving efficiencies up to 93 percent. That’s in addition to installing the Buderus MCM10 intelligent control system with the Multi-Cascade Module, simplifying operating functionalities and improving efficiency. Plus, Climate-Tech also installed Buderus SST150 indirect domestic water tank to provide domestic hot water.

Morrison Inc., Duncannon, Pennsylvania
Presented to Residential Sales Manager Michael Armstrong
Morrison Inc. Geothermal has experience in the environmentally friendly technology, installing more than 4,500 geothermal systems throughout central Pennsylvania over the last 30 years. That’s why the new owner of the Rite-Aid Pharmacy founder’s home called on the team at Morrison to retrofit and upgrade the comfort heating and hot water system, installing seven Bosch water-to-air and water-to-water geothermal units.

SMC Geothermal, Foxfield, Colorado
Presented to owner Conald Frank
SMC Geothermal won second place for its large-scale project, installing 254 Bosch BP geothermal units in the residential complex Solaire Apartments in Brighton, Colorado.
Second Place, Residential
Pespisa Company, Billerica, Massachusetts
Presented to co-owner Colin Pespisa
Pespisa Company received the award for retrofitting a home with a Bosch Greenstar wall-mounted boiler, replacing an old cast iron boiler in the process. The annual approximate fuel savings is anticipated to be 30 percent.
Third Place, Commercial
American Geothermal Systems, Austin, Texas
Presented to President Victor DeMarco
American Geothermal Systems took third place for its large-scale installation, outfitting a 138,000-square-foot net-zero energy storage building with 14 Bosch Greensource Model SM geothermal heat pumps.
Third Place, Residential
McCourt Heating and Cooling, Wappingers Falls, New York
Presented to owner Kevin McCourt
An oil-to-gas upgrade earned McCourt Heating and Cooling the third place victory. The experienced team installed both a Bosch Greenstar FS Gas Condensing Boiler and a Buderus indirect hot water tank.
