Angela Simon Elected as SMACNA Vice President
PHOENIX, Ariz. – Angela M. Simon, P.E., president of Western Allied Mechanical, was elected by the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association’s board of directors to serve as vice president. Her four-year term began Oct. 19 at the close of SMACNA’s 73rd Annual Convention.
Actively involved in SMACNA leadership for years, Simon was a member of SMACNA’s board of directors from 2007 to 2011, the first woman to serve on SMACNA’s board.
Simon is co-chair of SMACNA’s Steering Council for Women in Construction Leadership. She has served as a SMACN-IFUS trustee, chair of the HVAC Contractors Council Steering Committee and chair of the Products and Programs Coordinating Committee. She also has also been a member of the Director Nominating Committee and the Budget and Finance Committee. In 2013, she was inducted into SMACNA’s distinguished College of Fellows.
Simon was recognized as the 2016 SMACNA Contractor of the Year at SMACNA’s 73rd convention for her longstanding involvement in the association, especially for mentoring young people and supporting women’s involvement in the construction industry.
Simon and her husband are Summit Circle level contributors to the New Horizons Foundation.
Simon joined Western Allied Mechanical as a project manager in 1987. She graduated from California Polytechnic State University in 1986 with a degree in mechanical engineering and is a registered professional engineer in California.
