Cleveland-Area Contractor Receives SMACNA Legislative Contractor of the Year Award
PHOENIX, Ariz. – John E. Sickle Jr., owner and president of Duct Fabricators Inc. and Ohio Fabricators Inc. (right) was recognized as the Legislative Contractor of the Year at the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association’s 73rd Annual Convention.
SMACNA’s Legislative Contractor of the Year Award is the highest legislative honor a contractor may earn within our organization.
Sickle is a highly respected representative of SMACNA’s Cleveland Chapter, having recently served as president for 19 years and as a member of their board of directors and trustee of the innovative Sheet Metal Industry Promotion Plan for more than 30 years. Active at the national level as well, he is also a member of SMACNA’s national board of directors, the College of Fellows and the NEMI-Fire Life Safety Committee.
Sickle is an active member of the Congressional Insider’s Club, which he has helped promote to others within SMACNA. He enthusiastically supports SMAC PAC’s fundraising activities for the PAC and educates political candidates, federal officials and national leaders to promote SMACNA’s priority issues. In addition to attending fundraisers, writing letters, making phone calls on issues and briefing members of Congress and legislative committee staff members, Sickle is a regular attendee at state and national conventions and at industry forums of importance to SMACNA and HVAC firms across the nation.
This award is given to contractors annually in recognition of exceptional effort and unsurpassed leadership in legislative and political action on behalf of their company, their association and their industry. Their activism makes a difference in SMACNA’s national lobbying efforts, as well as challenges all SMACNA and industry members to match their level of commitment.
