New 16 SEER Systems Broaden Luxaire LX Series Packaged Equipment Line
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Johnson Controls adds new high-efficiency 16 SEER PHE6 and PCE6 models to its line of Luxaire LX Series residential packaged equipment. All models in the 16 SEER line are now ENERGY STAR certified. Available in 2-5 ton capacities, these units feature a contractor-friendly design, easy installation and service, reliable technology and Johnson Controls’ advanced manufacturing processes and extensive laboratory testing.
Like other LX Series residential package equipment, the new 16 SEER models offer exact-fit gas/electric hookups and a compact cabinet to fit most roof frames or slabs. A standardized design and removable front and side panels that provide separate access for refrigeration and heat compartments reduce installation and service time.
A two-stage compressor and two-stage gas/electric heating provide consistent comfort while reducing energy consumption (electric heat above 10 kW also has staging capability)—as much as 38 percent when compared to older 10 SEER units. The units also feature:
- Top discharge fan and vibration-reducing chassis, along with multi-speed ECM indoor fan motor, ensure more quiet and efficient operation
- Tested copper tube/aluminum fin condenser coils combine an outstanding heat transfer rate with long-term reliability and corrosion resistance
- Improved dehumidification with advanced thermostat controls improve comfort without overcooling
- An enhanced ECM circulating blower
