ASSE International Publishes New Edition of Backflow Prevention Field Test Procedures Booklet

ASSE International has published the seventh edition of its Field Test Procedures Using Three-Valve and Five-Valve Test Kits booklet. Available in both hardcopy and digital versions, this booklet provides guides for testing ASSE 1013, Reduced Pressure Principle Backflow Prevention Assemblies; ASSE 1015, Double Check Backflow Prevention Assemblies; ASSE 1020, Pressure Vacuum Breaker Backflow Prevention Assemblies; and ASSE 1056, Spill Resistant Vacuum Breaker Backflow Prevention Assemblies using three-valve and five-valve test kits.

Changes found in this seventh edition were primarily made to clarify and standardize the procedures within the booklet and ensure that the procedures mirror the steps found in the ASSE/IAPMO/ANSI Series 5000-2022, Cross-Connection Control Professional Qualifications Standard. Test procedures in this edition have not changed; however, the wording of procedure steps and the presentation of troubleshooting flowcharts and guides were updated to make the procedures clearer to follow.
