Watts Launches Under Sink Guardian Mixing Valve with Cross Sense Indicator

Watts announced the launch of the LFUSG-CS Under Sink Guardian, a patented point-of-use mixing valve with a proprietary Cross Sense Indicator. It is the industry’s first point-of-use mixing valve engineered to simplify diagnosis and repair through visual indication and a replaceable strainer cartridge.

Addressing common mixing valve maintenance challenges
Fouled or broken point-of-use mixing valves result in a challenging diagnosis process that frequently necessitates full replacements, leading to material waste, increased labor costs and extended repair times. The LFUSG-CS addresses these challenges with its Cross Sense Indicator technology, the industry’s first visual diagnostic technology that signals when the mixing valve is experiencing an issue. Color-coded indicators display easy-to-read status information, including normal operation, idle conditions, crossflow at hot or cold inlets or improper installation. This innovation offers contractors and maintenance personnel a streamlined diagnosis experience with the ability to easily see if a replacement is necessary or if a repair can be made.

The design of the LFUSG-CS supports proactive service rather than reactive replacement when a malfunctioning fixture cannot easily be identified. Its replaceable strainer cartridge includes a built-in check valve and dual 40 mesh stainless steel strainers, allowing maintenance to be completed without removing the valve body. This helps extend product life and support more sustainable practices by reducing material waste.

Designed for under-sink commercial installations
The LFUSG-CS is intended for under-sink installations in commercial and institutional buildings where access is limited. Built-in visual diagnostics provide faster, more dependable feedback during maintenance, allowing issues to be identified and addressed more quickly. The patented upgrade solution features straightforward installation between the shutoff valves and the faucet and includes four compression nuts and a cold water outlet cap for a three-port application.
