Trane & American Standard Cold Climate Heat Pumps
Trane Technologies announced the launch of advanced residential cold climate heat pumps across its Trane and American Standard heating & air conditioning brands: Trane’s 20 TruComfort Cold Climate Heat Pump with WeatherGuard and American Standard’s AccuComfort Platinum 20 Cold Climate Heat Pump with All Weather. Features include:
- Extreme cold performance: Maintains 100% heating capacity down to 5 F and continued operating reliably in temperatures as low as -20 F.
- Real-world validation: Nearly 18,000 hours of field-tested heating runtime across nine units in real homes, including operation in temperatures as low as -21 F across six states.
- DOE performance: Successfully met the U.S. Department of Energy’s Residential Cold Climate Heat Pump Technology Challenge requirements.
- Connected, variable-speed comfort: Variable-speed technology enabling more precise temperature control, quieter operation and improved energy efficiency, while Link connectivity provides system optimization and advanced remote diagnostics.
As demand grows for high-performance electrification solutions, these systems represent the latest evolution in cold climate heat pump technology, providing dealers, contractors and homeowners with a solution designed to perform in conditions where traditional heat pump adoption has historically faced challenges.
