Joseph Lansdell Elected SMACNA President
PHOENIX, Ariz. – Joseph Lansdell, president of Poynter Sheet Metal Inc., Greenwood, Indiana, was elected by the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association’s board of directors to serve as president. His year-long term in office began Oct. 19 at the close of SMACNA’s 73rd Annual Convention.
Lansdell has been actively involved in the sheet metal industry for years and served on SMACNA’s board of directors from 2007 to 2011. Lansdell serves as a SFUA Article X panelist, vice-chair of the Budget and Finance Committee and on the National Pension Fund. He is also on the Investment Committee, which he has also chaired.
Dedicated to advancing the industry, Lansdell served on SMACNA’s Legislative Committee and the political action committee, SMAC PAC. He has been officer liaison to the Technical Resources Committee and the Products and Programs Coordinating Committee, and on the Director Nominating Committee, Strategic Planning Task Force, High Performing Contractor Task Force, Project Management Task Force and the IAQ Guidelines Task Force. He has served on the National Energy Management Institute Trustees and on a variety of NEMI/NEMIC task forces, as well.
A member of the Sheet Metal Contractors Association of Central Indiana, Lansdell served as president and on the board of directors. In addition, he was Industry Fund president and a member of the LMCC Committee, Education Committee, Labor Committee, Negotiating Committee and the INSMAC statewide board.
Lansdell graduated from Purdue University at Indianapolis, Indiana with a degree in mechanical engineering technology.
