hilmor Announces Scholarship Contest for Current and Future HVAC/R Students
In an effort to help the next generation of HVAC/R technicians, hilmor announced its Retool Your Future program, which includes sponsoring a contest that will offer a $10,000 scholarship to three current or future HVAC/R students. hilmor, a line of HVAC/R tools, introduced 150 new products to the industry in early 2013.
Three students will be awarded $10,000 scholarships, a hilmor merchandising Green Wall donated to their school and travel to the AHR Expo 2014, the world’s largest HVAC/R trade show in New York City.
Additionally, each winner will receive a new hilmor Starter Kit. The recently developed Starter Kit has all the go-to tools for those just embarking on their HVAC/R career. This specially priced tool package includes the Dual Readout Thermometer, 2-Valve Aluminum Manifold, Quick-Engage Flare & Swage and Quick-Change Magnetic Nut Driver. The Starter Kit will be available for purchase at select distributors in August.
“Despite the fact that jobs in the HVAC/R industry are expected to grow, the industry is challenged to find skilled workers to fill these jobs,” says Andrea Halpin, senior marketing manager. “hilmor created this scholarship contest as a way to encourage people to pursue a career in the HVAC/R industry.”
The online essay contest is open to those who are currently enrolled in or have applied for admission into an established, recognized HVAC/R school in the U.S. Official rules are available at www.retoolyourfuture.com. The contest will run from Aug. 1 to Oct. 31; winners will be notified in December.
