ACG to Conduct CxA Workshop & Exam at CxEnergy 2018 Conference & Expo
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The AABC Commissioning Group will conduct a workshop and exam for its Commissioning Authority Certification April 23-24 in Las Vegas, Nevada in conjunction with the CxEnergy 2018 Conference & Expo.
This interactive workshop includes many small-group breakout activities, where attendees will use project case studies to develop and discuss samples of key commissioning deliverables. The CxA exam is a four-hour, closed-book exam that tests approved candidates on their knowledge of the commissioning process, as well as a general understanding of building systems and how commissioning fits in with the rest of the construction process.
The CxA certification is the premier credential for independent commissioning providers. It demonstrates you are an experienced commissioning provider with a complete understanding of the commissioning process and possess the organizational, documentation, communication and team-building skills that are necessary to lead and coordinate an effective commissioning team and to ensure that the intent of the building owner is achieved.
The CxA program has achieved accreditation by ANSI in 2017. The CxA credential is also now a recognized certification by the Department of Energy’s Better Buildings Workforce Guidelines program, ensuring that the CxA is considered an approved commissioning credential for all federally funded projects.
