Panel series highlights for 2023
In 2022, AHR Expo debuted a panel series to tackle some of the industry’s larger discussions with the goal of providing open conversation among professionals across multiple job roles. This year, the panel series will return with an even more robust lineup of topics aimed to open the communication pipeline to many of HVAC’s pain points and opportunities, as well as forecast what is coming down the line. The 2023 AHR Expo Panel Series lineup includes:

2023 State of the industry
This year, a state-of-the-industry update features leaders from ASHRAE, AHRI, HARDI, PHCC, NCI, etc. regarding challenges, opportunities and forecasts for the year ahead. Expected topics include changing regulations, the economic forecast including inflation and tariffs, the green transition, the supply chain, and more.

Decarbonization
Join professionals leading the discussion with regard to decarbonization and HVACR’s role in preparedness, regulation and standard planning, opportunities and challenges and expectations. Representatives from engineering, government, owners and education dive into what decarbonization means and what is expected of the HVACR industry.

Communication across the supply chain: Mapping the channel and flow of information
A conversation surrounding the flow of communication within the industry to better understand how shareholder audiences receive and understand information, as well as identify the best places to source information. This discussion aims to examine the gaps in communication flow starting with standards writing to manufacturer implementation and following the chain through equipment install and maintenance.

Basics of refrigerant changeover
In light of the imminent refrigerant changeover, leaders discuss the breakdown of what changes are occurring and when they are happening, as well as the expectations at the manufacturer level and in the field.

HVAC & social media: Strengthening the trade with a community mindset
Wednesday’s headliner session includes an HVACR community panel of HVACR professionals. Panelists include Moderator Ben Poole, Michael Flynn, Jeff DeMassari, Chris Stevens, Rachel Sylvian, Jess Bannister, Omar Harris, Jamie Christensen, Aaron Bond and Zac DesJardins.

Continuing education
AHR Expo attendees have the opportunity to participate in professional development courses through ASHRAE Learning Institute and short courses/professional development seminars approved for continuing education units that can apply toward maintaining P.E. licensure. Attendees are required to register and pay tuition fees in advance of the show.

New product, technology theater presentations
Attendees are also encouraged to sit in on exhibitor presentations in the New Product & Technology Theater. More than 145 presentations lasting approximately 20 minutes each are planned across all three days of the show.

These free seminars are meant to provide attendees with brief overviews of new product announcements and technologies that can be found in exhibitor booths on the show floor. Attendees are invited to follow up presentations with a visit to the booth for a more in-depth explanation and 1:1 interaction with products and representatives. These sessions are set to take place in special theaters right on the exhibit floor. No fee or registration is required.

Attendees can view the complete schedule, including free and New Product and Technology Theaters, on AHR Expo website. The MyShowPlanner tool is available to assist attendees in building a personalized schedule by bookmarking sessions that pique interests. Attendees can also download the MyShowPlanner App for iOS and Android to sync and manage their show and education program schedule.
