Plumbing Manufacturers, Initiatives Earn 2023 WaterSense Awards
This year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s WaterSense program presented a total of 51 Sustained Excellence, Partner of the Year and Excellence Awards to partners for their dedication to making saving water easy with WaterSense.
The organizations and over 2,000 other partners helped consumers and businesses save 1.2 trillion gallons of water in 2023 alone and 8.7 trillion gallons since 2006. For a full list of award winners, visit epa.gov/watersense. The following are some achievements that earned awards in 2023:
- City of Charlottesville (Virginia) produced new television and digital commercials featuring characters who shared ideas for finding and fixing leaks and replacing plumbing fixtures with WaterSense-labeled models.
- Kohler Co. introduced 120 new WaterSense-labeled products in 2023; they also donated 200 showerheads and WaterSense-labeled toilets as part of the Alliance for Water Efficiency Partnership for Water Affordability Long Beach Program.
- Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District launched a new Smart Leak Detector Rebate Program, which rebated over 35 leak detectors and revamped its website to highlight WaterSense-labeled product rebates.
- Niagara launched its new WaterSense-labeled Phantom One Piece toilet at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show and promoted the WaterSense label to over 40,000 attendees. Niagara also hosted 41 courses that highlighted WaterSense.
- The Home Depot offers 100% WaterSense-labeled toilets in stores; over 7,000 WaterSense-labeled product models are offered online. Stores offered over $50 million in WaterSense-labeled product markdowns and discounts in 2023.
