HARDI Hosts Second Annual New York State Advocacy Day in Albany

Heating, Air-conditioning, & Refrigeration Distributors International held its second-annual New York State Advocacy Day in Albany, bringing together 12 attendees representing six New York HVACR distributor companies for a full day of education and direct engagement with state policymakers.

Designed to support HARDI members in states facing current or proposed legislation impacting the HVACR industry, the one-day program equips participants with the tools, context and confidence to advocate effectively at the state level.

The day began with focused content that provided attendees with background on key policy issues and the resources available to support members in state-level advocacy efforts. This year’s New York State Advocacy Day centered on New York’s Part 494 refrigerant regulation and the need to align state policy with federal standards.

In the afternoon, HARDI members met with state lawmakers, translating industry expertise into meaningful dialogue and direct advocacy. Participants discussed the importance of supporting legislation introduced by Assemblyman Bill Conrad that would match New York’s refrigerant regulations to the federal HFC technology transition timeline. These conversations helped elevate member voices while strengthening relationships between lawmakers and the HVACR distribution community.

HARDI’s State Advocacy Day program continues to expand as part of the association’s broader commitment to strengthening member engagement and advancing policies that support the HVACR distribution channel nationwide.
