Danfoss Expands Wholesale Distributor Support Team in North America

With the goal of increasing support for its distributor customers, Danfoss Climate Solutions has expanded its North America wholesale distribution sales team, hiring two account managers, a channel development manager, a channel sales manager and a technical training manager. This increase in investment reflects the company’s commitment to building stronger relationships and more effective communication with distributors and contractors.

James Taylor, channel development manager, will develop and manage channel business promotions, research and recruit new distribution partners, and facilitate the Danfoss distribution partner program, including Danfoss’s distributor advisory council. He has over 30 years of experience in technical service, outside sales, branch management and sales management in the HVAC/R distribution and aftermarket channel.

Jason Sniff, channel sales manager, will lead distribution account managers to develop territory and account strategies, with the goal of enhancing relationships with existing accounts and developing new distribution partners. He has over 25 years of experience in the HVAC/R industry and distribution sales channel.

Nelson Pinero, account manager, will support wholesale distribution partners in Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and portions of Texas and Missouri. He has over 35 years of experience in the HVAC/R industry, serving as a technician, sales representative, project manager, account management and regional manager at several companies.

Robert McConnell, account manager, will support Danfoss’ distribution and wholesaler partners in New York and New England. He brings over 20 years of experience supporting the sales and growth of technical products via the distribution channel.

The larger account team will enable increased responsiveness and in-person interaction between account managers and customers. Rick Sporrer, director of indirect sales in North America, emphasized that this shift will “reduce complexity, give our wholesale distribution customers a single point of contact, and allow us to be more consistent in our distributor support.” He noted that the team’s growth will continue, with plans to hire two additional account managers in the coming months.

To ensure that distributors and contractors have the knowledge needed to install and recommend Danfoss products, the team also hired a technical training manager, Tony Schluttenhofer. Tony brings over 20 years of experience as an HVAC service technician and trainer to his role and will work with the account managers to conduct product training and informational visits at distributor locations for their contractor networks.
