Technology, Sustainability & Regulations: Report Reveals 2024 HVACR Trends
AHR, in association with several industry associations including AHRI, ASHRAE, PHCC, HARDI, IAPMO/RPA, RSES and more, have published the 2024 Trend Report. The report presents insights into the HVACR industry trends, changes and what to expect heading into 2024. Key takeaways and common themes include: 1) Managing multiple areas of growth within the industry; 2) Educating first the workforce, and secondly the end user and 3) Cutting-edge technology and environmental responsibility.
Regulations remain a driving force toward a cleaner future. As such, the report touches on decarbonization, the green transition, decarbonization, new standards with quicker onboarding and the global refrigerant transition.
The built environment is evolving. The report covers four key areas and adaptation of technology: IoT, AI and controls, automation, data analytics and cybersecurity and building automation systems. Product adoption conversations are centered on heat pumps and building automation systems.
The supply chain has rebounded to stable health, however, the report dives into A2Ls and the effect on distribution and consolidation across the industry. Workforce and training remain a main topic of conversation. There is a still a need for a strong and skilled workforce. Solutions include streamlining the flow of communication across the chain; new approaches to training have evolved.
