IAPMO Seeks UMC Task Group Members to Examine Ducts, Ammonia and Hydronics Provisions

ONTARIO, Calif. — The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials is seeking technical experts to participate on and accepting applications for three unique task groups relating to ducts and plenums that are portions of a heating, cooling, absorption or evaporative cooling or exhaust system; ammonia refrigeration systems and hydronic piping systems that are part of heating, cooling, ventilation and air-conditioning systems.

Individuals selected to participate on any of these task groups would be asked to review the provisions in the corresponding chapters of the 2015 Uniform Mechanical Code to identify and review issues brought forth by IAPMO membership and the industry. These task groups will provide an in-depth analysis pertaining to ducts, ammonia refrigeration and hydronic systems to develop recommendations for the UMC technical committee’s consideration.

Task group members will participate via conference call or web meeting and provide their perspective on the code and assist in drafting recommendations, along with a report of underlying issues, for action by the UMC technical committee. Applicants are not required to be members of the UMC technical committee. The application for each task group may be downloaded at:
