Authorities in Certification to Exhibit at AHR Expo

The Associated Air Balance Council, the AABC Commissioning Group and the Energy Management Association will exhibit at AHR Expo 2025 in booth 6263.

Highlights of these presenting organizations include:

  • AABC: A presentation titled Fundamentals of Test, Adjust, and Balance for Engineers, Cx & Energy Providers, led by Mike Kelly, TBE, CxA (American Testing, Inc.). This session will provide practical explanations of key test and balance challenges, covering everything from system design considerations to obtaining meaningful data. It will discuss the TAB process and other challenges as they relate to the engineer, Cx or energy provider perspective and explore how addressing these challenges with an independent TAB firm can ensure that a project goes smoothly. (Feb. 10, 2:30-3:30 p.m.; Location W311AB)
  • EMA: A presentation titled Decarbonization for Dummies will be led by Al LaPera, CxA, EMP (Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.). This presentation will discuss the key issues of decarbonizing the building sector. Climate change impacts in building construction and operations are becoming more evident, so this session will offer specific steps that can be taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from buildings. (Feb. 11, 10:30-11:30 a.m.; Location W311AB)
  • ACG: Derek De Jesus, CxA (Derek De Jesus Cx, LLC), will present Shift Left for the Commissioning Process of Data Center Projects. This session will explore how traditional methods used to commission data centers have shifted to accommodate changing requirements, environmental concerns, and other factors. It will explain the purpose, methodology, and benefits of the commissioning process as it relates to data center construction projects and identify the roles and responsibilities of commissioning team members within that process. (Feb. 11, 1-2 p.m.; Location W311AB)
  • ACG will also host a Certified Commissioning Authority workshop, followed by an administration of the exam for approved candidates. The workshop includes discussion of the commissioning process as described in ACG’s Commissioning Guideline, as well as valuable practical insight on skills, strategies, and communication and documentation protocols essential to applying the process on “real world” projects. This highly interactive training includes many small-group breakout activities, where attendees will use project case studies to develop and discuss samples of key commissioning deliverables. (Feb. 11-12, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Location W307D)
