AHR Expo, ASHRAE & AHRI Seeking Innovative HVACR, Plumbing Products
WESTPORT, Conn. — Submissions for the 2015 AHR Expo Innovation Awards Competition are being accepted now through Sept. 8. Sponsored by ASHRAE, AHRI and AHR Expo, the Innovation Awards were created to recognize, encourage and promote new product development in 10 HVACR categories. The submissions from exhibitors are reviewed by a panel of judges selected by ASHRAE. They will evaluate the entries based on their innovative design, application, market impact and value to the industry. The award categories are:
- Building automation
- Cooling
- Green building

- Indoor air quality
- Plumbing
- Refrigeration
- Software
- Tools & instruments
- Ventilation
Winners of the Innovation Awards will be honored at a special ceremony during the show at McCormick Place in Chicago, Jan. 26-28, 2015. The winning exhibitors will receive special placards to place in their booths at the show, as well as an award to display at their company headquarters. From the 10 winning entries, one entry will be selected as the 2015 AHR Expo Product of the Year.

To date, nearly $140,000 from the awards program have been donated to a variety of charitable organizations across the country. Many of these organizations use the donations to upgrade their HVAC systems.
“The AHR Expo Innovation Awards benefits the HVACR industry in a variety of ways,” said Clay Stevens, president of International Exposition Company, which produces and manages the AHR Expo. “In addition to recognizing and encouraging new product innovation, the proceeds benefit charitable organizations throughout the US.”
AHR Expo is co-sponsored by ASHRAE and the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute and is endorsed by 34 leading HVACR industry associations. The Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Institute of Canada is an honorary sponsor.
